Anchorage July 2015

Anchorage's mean monthly temperature for July was 59.9°F, 1.1°F above the normal value. The highest temperature for the month was 81°F occurring on the 6th, breaking the old record for that day, set in 1973, by 1°F. The lowest temperature occurred on the 1st at 50°F.

Precipitation was heavier than normal with 2.53" observed, 0.70" above the expected 1.83". The average wind speed was 6.0 mph, while the highest wind speed was 41 mph blowing from a southeasterly direction on the 16th.

Barrow July 2015

July's mean monthly temperature in Barrow was recorded at 40.5°F, 0.4°F colder than normal. The highest temperature for the month was 64°F on the 5th, setting a new record for that day, breaking the old 1940 record by 4°F, while the coldest was 31°F occurring on both the 28th and 30th.

Precipitation was lighter than normal with 0.22" measured, 0.76" lower than normal. Trace amounts of snowfall were recorded for the month as well. The average wind speed was 12.0 mph, while the highest wind speed was 36 mph on the 7th, blowing from a southeasterly direction.

Delta Junction July 2015

Delta Junction's mean monthly temperature for July was 0.7°F colder than normal, with a temperature of 59.5°F calculated for the month. The highest temperature for the month was 87°F on the 6th, breaking the old 1986 record for that day by 3°F, while the lowest temperature was 43°F on the 15th.

3.13" of precipitation were measured for Delta Junction, 0.45" higher than normal.

Juneau July 2015

The mean monthly temperature for Juneau was 57.6°F, 0.7°F above normal this July. The coldest temperature for the month was 44°F on the 4th, while 84°F on the 6th was the highest temperature for the month.

This is a new monthly record, breaking the 1997 record by 0.04". 2.00" of this precipitation fell on the 23rd, breaking the pervious record for that day of 1.14", set in 2000. The average wind speed was 7.7 mph, while the highest wind speed was 42 mph on the 2nd, from a southeasterly direction.

Ketchikan July 2015

The mean monthly temperature for Ketchikan in July was 61.7°F, 4.0°F above the normal of 57.7°F. The highest temperature for the month was 82°F on the 7th, while the lowest was 50°F on the 16th.

Precipitation was near normal, with 6.80" measured, and 6.57" expected.

King Salmon July 2015

King Salmon's July mean monthly temperature was 57.4°F, 1.9°F above normal, with the highest temperature for the month occurring on the 3rd at 79°F. The coldest temperature for the month also occurred on the 3rd at 39.0°F.

Precipitation was measured at 3.11", 0.81" above normal. The highest wind speed for the month was 41 mph, blowing from a southerly direction on the 16th, and an average monthly wind speed of 8.2 mph.

Kodiak July 2015

The mean monthly temperature for July in Kodiak was calculated as 57.4°F, 2.9°F above the normal of 54.5°F. The highest temperature for the month was 74°F on the 2nd, while the coldest was 45°F on the 31st.

Precipitation was lighter than normal, with 3.32" recorded, 1.61" below the normal 4.93".  Contributing to this was the 1.37" of precipitation that fell on the 6th, which broke the old daily record of 1.05" set in 2008. The average wind speed was 7.7 mph, while the highest wind speed for the month was 36 mph on the 23rd, from a westerly direction.

Nome July 2015

Nome had a mean monthly temperature of 54.9°F in July, 2.7°F above normal. The highest temperature for the month was 71°F on the 4th, while the coldest was 42.°F on the 27th.

Precipitation was lighter than normal, with 1.44" measured, and 2.11" expected. The average wind speed was 8.7 mph, while the highest wind speed was 35 mph on the 23rd, blowing from a westerly direction.
