Nome had a mean temperature of 51.1°F, 1.1°F below the normal value of 52.2°F. The minimum temperature for the month was a chilly 33.0°F, observed on the 1st. However, just a week later, on the 8th, the maximum temperature was reported at 75°F.
Nearly three times the normal amount of precipitation was observed in Nome. A total of 6.27" of rain fell. This is 4.16" over the normal amount of 2.11". Helping this high total were two record events. On the 25th, 1.38" fell, 0.03" more than the previous record set in way back in 1922. Then on the 28th, 1.13" of rain fell, breaking the previous record for that day of 0.87", set 101 years ago in 1911. InKing Salmon the average temperature was 52.3°F, 2.2°F below the long term mean. The maximum temperature (73°F) for the month was reported on the 18th, while the minimum temperature of 40°F occurred on two separate days the 6thand the 25th.
King Salmon had a slightly above normal amount of precipitation with a total of 4.77", 2.47" over the long-term mean. The 4thsaw a new precipitation record of 0.59" set, topping the 1956 record of 0.31". Then again on the 9tha new record of 0.71" fell, breaking the 1994 total of 0.63". The average wind speed was 8.2 mph, and the highest gust of 43 mph occurred on the 28thfrom a southerly direction.
Kodiak was cooler than normal, having a mean temperature of 52.0°F, 2.5°F less than the expected mean of 54.5°F. The maximum temperature for the month (66°F) was observed on the 27th, and the minimum temperature was 40°F, reported on the 4th. The low temperature of 43.0°F on the 25thtied the minimum temperature for that day, a record set previously in 2000.
Precipitation was 18% less than normal, with a total of 4.05" compared to the normal amount of 4.93". The average wind was 6.7 mph, while the highest wind gust occurred on the 10that 37 mph, blowing from an easterly direction.
InBig Delta the mean June temperature was 57.9°F, just above the long-term mean of 57.6. The highest monthly temperature of 83°F was observed on the 23rd, while the minimum temperature (41°F) occurred on the 1st. The temperatures were mixed throughout the month with respect to the expected trend for June. No new daily records were observed.
Precipitation in June was reported at 2.06", 11% below the expected amount of 2.31".
Anchorage recorded an average temperature in June of 54.3°F, 0.9°F below the normal of 55.2°F. The maximum temperature of the month occurred on the 22ndwith 75°F, while a minimum temperature of 40°F was observed on the 4thand 5thof June. For the whole month the temperature followed the expected trend fairly closely, with the exception of warmer temperatures around the 20th.
Precipitation was reported at 1.39", which is 43% above the normal of 0.97". The average cloudiness was high with 80%. The mean monthly wind speed was calculated as 6.9 mph, with the peak wind speed occurred on 8that 38 mph blowing from a southerly direction.
InJuneau , the average temperature was 51.7°F, an ample -2.9°F below the long term mean. The maximum temperature for the month (82°F) occurred on the 23rd. The minimum temperature (41°F) was recorded on the 3rd, 5thand 10thof the month. No new daily extremes were observed.
Precipitation totaled 6.69", just more than double the normal of 3.24". It rained on 28 days of the month, and June 2012 was the wettest June on record, topping the 6.22" from June 1996. Despite the high monthly record precipitation, there were no daily records set. The mean monthly wind speed was 6.7 mph, with a maximum gust of 37 mph occurring on 24th, blowing from southeast. Unsurprisingly, mean cloudiness was high at 90%, and only one day registered as fair.
Ketchikan's average temperature of 52.7°F in June was 1.4°F below the long-term mean. The highest temperature of the month measured 81°F and occurred on the 23rd, tying the record for this day, set in 2004. The monthly low temperature of 37°F transpired on the 4th.

Barrow reported an average temperature in June of 37.3°F, 1.7°F above normal. The month was fairly close to the expected values, with the exception of warm days on the 15thand 18th. For the 2011-12 winter, the total snowfall hit 76.1", the second highest seasonal snowfall on record, a record that stretches back to 1920. The highest winter was 2008-09 with a total of 77.4". The mean monthly wind speed was 13.5 mph and a gust of 43 mph occurred on the 21st, blowing from a westerly direction.
