Fairbanks’ November mean monthly temperature was 3.7°F, 1.1°F above normal. The highest temperature for the month was 32°F on the 1st, while the lowest was ‑31°F on the 29th.

 

Precipitation was 0.29”, 0.38” below normal, while snowfall was 33% of normal with 4.4” measured and 13.2 normally expected. The highest wind speed was 14 mph from a northerly direction on the 4th and 5th, and from a northeasterly direction on the 30th. The average wind speed was 2.0 mph.

Anchorage November 2016

Anchorage had a mean monthly temperature of 26.1°F this November, 3.9°F above normal. The highest temperature for the month was 47°F on the 10th, while the lowest was 1°F occurring on both the 29th and 30th.

 

Precipitation was lighter than normal with 0.25” measured, 0.91” less than normal. Snow was just a tenth of normal with 1.3” measured, and 13.1” expected. The average wind speed was 5.8 mph while the highest wind speed was 39 mph from a southeasterly direction on the 10th.

Barrow November 2016

November’s mean monthly temperature for Barrow was 13.3°F, 0.7°F above normal. The highest temperature for the month was just below freezing, at 31°F on both the 1st and 2nd, while the lowest temperature was -21°F on the 27th.

 

Precipitation was higher than normal, with 0.43” measured, 0.22” above normal. Snowfall was slightly above normal with 6.2” recorded, just 0.5” above normal. The average wind speed was 10.7 mph while the highest wind speed was 39 mph from a northeasterly direction on both the 2nd and 3rd.

Delta Junction November 2016

Delta Junction had a mean monthly temperature of 9.4°F, 3.2°F above normal this November. The highest temperature for the month was 44°F on the 11th, while the lowest was -32°F on the 30th.

 

Precipitation was less than normal with a mere 0.07” measured, and 0.63” normally expected.

Juneau November 2016

The mean monthly temperature for Juneau this November was 37.0°F, 3.6°F above normal. From the 7th to the 10th there were three tied daily records, and one broken record on the 9th where the 53°F measured broke the old 1997 record for that day by 1°F. The highest temperature for the month was 55°F on the 10th, while the lowest was 13°F on the 21st.

 

Precipitation was 109% of normal, with 6.55” measured and 5.99” expected. Snowfall however was a mere 21% of normal with 2.7” recorded, and 13.1” normally expected. The average wind speed was 8.6 mph while the highest wind speed was 60 mph on the 5th from a southeasterly direction.

Ketchikan November 2016

Ketchikan had a mean monthly temperature of 43.1°F, 4.7°F above normal this November. The highest temperature for the month was 56°F on both the 3rd and 10th, while the lowest temperature was 24°F on the 21st.

 

Precipitation was just 2% above normal, with 16.90” measured and 16.63” expected.

King Salmon November 2016

King Salmon’s mean monthly temperature was 23.0°F just 0.1°F above normal. The highest temperature for the month was 47°F on the 9th, while the lowest temperature was -10°F occurring on both the 29th and 30th.

 

Precipitation was 0.94”, 0.45” below the normal 1.39”. Snowfall was 67% of normal with 4.6” measured and 6.9” expected. The average wind speed was 9.5 mph while the highest wind speed was 34 mph from a northerly direction on the 30th.

Kodiak November 2016

November’s mean monthly temperature for Kodiak was 37.2°F, 3.3°F above normal. The highest temperature for the month was 48°F on both the 8th and 9th while the lowest was 19°F on the 29th.

 

Precipitation was heavier than normal with 9.31” measured, and 6.87” expected. Snowfall however was just 28% of normal, with 1.8” recorded compared to the normal 6.4”. The average wind speed was 10.3 mph while the highest wind speed was 40 mph from a westerly direction on the 27th.

Nome November 2016

Nome had a mean monthly temperature of 15.9°F this November, 1.0°F below normal. The highest temperature for the month was 44°F on the 1st, while the lowest was -16°F on the 27th.

 

Precipitation was less than normal, with 0.71” measured and 1.22” expected. 8.5” of snowfall was recorded, 70% of the normal 12.1”. Over half, 4.8”, of this snowfall fell on the 16th, breaking the record for that day, set in 1970 by 0.2”. The average wind speed was 8.5 mph while the highest wind speed was 39 mph on the 10th from a northerly direction.
