The mean monthly temperature for Anchorage in March was 29.7°F, 3.1°F over the long-term monthly mean. The warmest temperature for the month was 49°F, occurring on the 17th, 28th, and 30th, while the coldest was -2°F occurring on the 14th. On the 24th, the 48°F that was observed broke the old 1974 record high for that day by 1°F. Daily record high temperatures were tied on the 17th, 27th and 30th.
Precipitation was higher than normal, with 0.77" measured, 0.17" over the expected amount. Most of the precipitation fell on the 7th with 0.51”, breaking the old daily record of 0.39” set in 2006. Snowfall however was very slight, especially compared to normal, with 0.2" observed, a whopping 9.7" below normal. The highest wind speed was 39 mph on the 16th, blowing from a southeasterly direction, while the average wind speed was calculated as 5.8 mph.
Barrow in March observed a monthly mean of -11.0°F, 1.7°F above normal. The warmest temperature was 15°F on the 3rd, while the coldest was -35°F on the 12th and 13th.
0.28" of precipitation was measured this March, 0.19" above the expected 0.09". Over half of this precipitation fell on the 3rd, where the 0.10 that was measured broke the old 1976 record for the day by 0.02". Contributing to that precipitation was the 0.70" that fell on the 5th, which broke the record for that day, previously set in 2010, by 0.07". However, snowfall was only 85% of the normal 11.6", with 9.9" recorded. The highest wind speed was 43 mph from a southeasterly direction on the 12th and the average wind speed was 7.0 mph.
The mean monthly temperature for Ketchikan was recorded at 42.7°F, 4.9°F above the normal mean of 37.8°F. The lowest temperature observed for the month was 27°F on the 16th, while just four days later, on the 20th, the highest temperature of 54°F was recorded.
13.23" of precipitation was measured for the month, 121% of normal.
King Salmon's monthly mean temperature was recorded at 30.4°F, 6.3°F above normal. The warmest temperature for the month was observed at 53°F on the 29th, which also broke the 1996 record for that day by 2°F. The coldest temperature was -11°F on the 14th. On the 19th, a temperature of 51°F was recorded which broke the record high for that day, set in 1983 by 1°F. Four days later, on the 23rd, the 51°F measured also broke the 1941 record for that day by 1°F.
Precipitation was heavier than normal, with 0.95" recorded, 0.25" more than normal. Snowfall was quite less than normal with a mere 5% of the expected amount, with 0.3" recorded. The average wind speed was 10.4 mph, and the highest wind speed was 44 mph, occurring on both the 2nd and the 15th, both from an easterly direction.
Kodiak's mean monthly temperature was 3.8°F above normal, with a mean of 36.6°F observed. The highest temperature for the month was 52°F which was recorded on the 29th, 7th, and 26th, while the lowest was 13°F observed on the 12th and 13th. The 47°F observed on the 5th broke the record for that day, set in 1996, by 1°F.
Precipitation was 136% of normal, with 7.53" measured compared to the 5.53" expected. 1.68" of that precipitation fell on the 2nd, which broke the old record for that day, set in 1968 by 0.8". Due to the warmer weather, just 1.5" of snowfall was measured, a mere 13% of the expected 11.3". The highest wind speed was 47 mph on the 25th, from a northeasterly direction, while the average wind speed was 12.3 mph.

Fairbanks measured a mean monthly temperature in February of 1.0°F, 2.3°F above the expected -1.3°F. The highest temperature for the month was observed at 37°F on the 16th, while the coldest was -43°F, an impressive 80°F difference between the highest and coldest temperature of the month.
Precipitation was near average with 0.48" observed, 0.06" above normal. Just 4.0” or 49% of normal snowfall were measured as 8.1" are normally observed for the month. The average wind speed was a mere 1.7 mph, with a highest wind speed for the month of 50 mph, from a westerly direction on the 28th.
