In Fairbanks the average temperature was -8.2°F, a very substantial negative deviation (-10.8°F) from the November's long term mean. This discontinues the above normal temperatures that had been observed in September and October. The high temperature for the month was 25°F on the 4th of November, while the lowest temperature occurred on the 17th with a low of -41°F. Remarkable was the cold spell from the 15th to the 22nd November with low temperatures daily of -35°F or below. Six days of the week set new daily record lows. These temperatures were more typical in the 1960's, and four of those six broke records that had been set in 1969. Further, it was the 6th coldest November recorded in Fairbanks and this dataset exceeds a century in length. Precipitation in November was 0.46" water-equivalent, below the expected value of 0.67". This deficit in precipitation can be also seen from the lack of snowfall, just 9.2" for the month, which is below the mean value of 13.2". The combination of record cold temperatures and a snowfall deficit will enhance the penetration of frost into the ground, and problems with freezing sewer and water lines later in winter could be expected. Wind speed averaged 3.0 mph and the highest gust was 30 mph on the 14th. Sky conditions were for clear for 6 days, for 14 days partly cloudy and for 10 days overcast.
Anchorage recorded an average temperature of 14.0°F, a substantial negative deviation of 8.2°F below the long term mean for November. The maximum temperature of the month occurred on the 1st and 2nd November with 33°F, while a minimum temperature of -8°F was observed on the 19th of the month. This represents a new record for this day. The old record was -7°F set in 1963. Precipitation was reported at 2.32", exactly double the normal value of 1.16". Further, 32.4" fell as snow during the month, 19.30" above the normal snowfall. The mean monthly cloudiness was relatively high and during the whole month only 3 clear day were observed, 9 were partly cloudy and 18 reported overcast conditions. An average monthly wind speed of 7.6 mph was observed and a top gust of 50 mph occurred on the 1st.
Barrow reported an average temperature in November of -0.2°F, below but relatively close to the normal of 0.7°F. A maximum temperature of 28°F occurred on the 1st, and a minimum temperature of -23°F was observed on the 23rd of November. Particularly during the middle of the month, seasonally above normal temperatures occurred. No new temperature extremes were observed during November. Precipitation in Barrow, which is low like all of Northern Alaska, totaled 0.23", very close to the normal of 0.21". This represents 7.9" of snow. The amount of 0.07" water-equivalent (1.5" of snow) on the 1st of the month tied the old record for this day. The mean monthly wind speed was 11.9 mph and a gust of 53 mph occurred on the 9th.
Big Delta, some 100 miles from Fairbanks and also in Interior Alaska, had a similar, but even slightly larger (-11.2°F) negative deviation from the long-term mean. Big Delta reported a mean temperature of -4.9°F, very, very cold for November. Normally the winter temperature for this area is slightly higher than Fairbanks, as it is closer to the Alaska Range hence, the "Föhn" is more pronounced. The warmest temperature of the month was 22°F on the 30th. As in Fairbanks, the middle of the month was especially cold. On the 19th November, a minimum temperature of -36°F was recorded, establishing a new record for this day. The old record was -34°F, which had occurred in 1963. This was also the coldest minimum for the month. A couple of days later (21 November), a minimum temperature of -35°F occurred, matching the old value for this day established in 1960. Precipitation totaled 0.25" water-equivalent, much too dry for the month, and surpassing even Fairbanks, both in the slight amount as well as the deviation from normal. It represents only 40% of the expected value.
In Juneau, the average November temperature was 29.7°F, 3.7°F below the long-term mean of 33.4°F. The maximum temperatures for the month (43°F) occurred on the 1st and the minimum temperature (7°F) was recorded on the 20th November. Precipitation totaled 7.68", 1.69" above the long-term mean. Due to the colder temperatures, a higher percentage of the precipitation fell as snow, and a total of 50.2" were measured, more than 3 times the average amount. On the 5th November, 5.3" were recorded at the airport, smashing the old record of 1.0" set in 1984. On the 14th 11.6" snow fell, more than doubling the old record of 5.3" set in 2009. This storm led to the closure of public schools on this day. As might be deduced from the high precipitation amount in Southeast Alaska, sky cover averaged 90%, with 2 clear days, 4 partly cloudy days and 24 cloudy days. Average wind speed at Juneau Airport was 8.4 mph with a highest wind gust of a substantial 53 mph on the 1st November. Due to this storm, power outages were reported for 5,000 customers on November 1st.
Ketchikan's average temperature of 36.4°F in November was 2.0°F below the long-term mean. The highest temperature of the month measured 48°F on the 1st, while the low temperature of 23°F occurred on the 17th of the month. The temperature followed more closely the long-term mean than other stations in Alaska for November, and no new temperature extremes were observed. Monthly precipitation was measured at 18.24", somewhat above the expected amount of 16.63". The highest daily precipitation occurred on the 1st with 2.93".

The precipitation total was measured as 2.72", notably above the long term mean of 1.39". Especially remarkable was the precipitation on the 3rd with 0.66", setting a new record for this day.
