March in Fairbanks was warmer than normal, with a recorded monthly mean of 15.5°F, 4.1°F above normal. The warmest temperature was 52°F on the 26th, which set a record for that day, breaking the 1970 record by 4°F, while the coldest -37°F on the 15th, almost 90°F colder than the highest temperature.
The precipitation for Fairbanks was higher than normal, with 0.49" recorded, 0.24" above the 0.25" that is expected. Snowfall was also higher than normal, with 8.1" measured, 165% of the normal 4.9". Over half of this snowfall, and nearly what is expected for the month, fell on the 7th, where 4.3" was measured, breaking the old 2012 record for that day by 1.6". Relatedly, the 0.28" water equivalent measured that day also broke the 2012 record for precipitation for the day by 0.11". The mean monthly temperature for Anchorage in March was 29.7°F, 3.1°F over the long-term monthly mean. The warmest temperature for the month was 49°F, occurring on the 17th, 28th, and 30th, while the coldest was -2°F occurring on the 14th. On the 24th, the 48°F that was observed broke the old 1974 record high for that day by 1°F. Daily record high temperatures were tied on the 17th, 27th and 30th.
Precipitation was higher than normal, with 0.77" measured, 0.17" over the expected amount. Most of the precipitation fell on the 7th with 0.51”, breaking the old daily record of 0.39” set in 2006. Snowfall however was very slight, especially compared to normal, with 0.2" observed, a whopping 9.7" below normal. The highest wind speed was 39 mph on the 16th, blowing from a southeasterly direction, while the average wind speed was calculated as 5.8 mph.
Barrow in March observed a monthly mean of -11.0°F, 1.7°F above normal. The warmest temperature was 15°F on the 3rd, while the coldest was -35°F on the 12th and 13th.

The mean monthly temperature for Ketchikan was recorded at 42.7°F, 4.9°F above the normal mean of 37.8°F. The lowest temperature observed for the month was 27°F on the 16th, while just four days later, on the 20th, the highest temperature of 54°F was recorded.

King Salmon's monthly mean temperature was recorded at 30.4°F, 6.3°F above normal. The warmest temperature for the month was observed at 53°F on the 29th, which also broke the 1996 record for that day by 2°F. The coldest temperature was -11°F on the 14th. On the 19th, a temperature of 51°F was recorded which broke the record high for that day, set in 1983 by 1°F. Four days later, on the 23rd, the 51°F measured also broke the 1941 record for that day by 1°F.
Precipitation was heavier than normal, with 0.95" recorded, 0.25" more than normal. Snowfall was quite less than normal with a mere 5% of the expected amount, with 0.3" recorded.
