Average temperature in Ketchikan was 53.3°F, hovering just below the average of 54.0°F.  A high of 69°F was recorded on the 9th, and on the 6th, a low of 43°F was reported.  Precipitation during the month was measured at 7.10" just 3% below normal for the month.  The highest one-day total was 1.69" on the 11th.

King Salmon June 2010

In King Salmon, the average temperature was 50.2°F, just below the average of 50.6°F.  A high of 73°F was recorded on the 26th and the low was 31°F on the 2nd. Precipitation measured 1.15" this month, 32% below normal.  Winds at the airport averaged 8.7 mph and on the 16th the highest gust of 43 mph occurred. 

Nome June 2010

44.2°F was the average temperature in Nome during June, 2.6°F below normal. The reported high was 70°F on the 21st and the low was 25°F on the 3rd and the 4th. Precipitation for the month was measured at 1.16", 3% above normal.  A new record precipitation amount was recorded on the 14th, when 0.41" fell.  The old record was 0.33" set in 1978.  Winds averaged 10.3 mph at the airport and a high gust of 35 mph occurred on the 1st.

Fairbanks May 2010

The average temperature for the month in Fairbanks was 54°F, which is 5.2°F above the mean, the third warmest May on record.  The high temperature was 82°F on the 27th, and the low was 29°F on the 6th.  Only 0.24" of precipitation was recorded, which is 40% below normal for the month.  A small storm front blew through the area on the 5th, dropping a trace of snow that disappeared by the 6th. Winds averaged 4.6 mph and the highest gust was 29 mph on the 18th.

Anchorage May 2010

Anchorage reported an average high of 48.4°F, 1.5°F warmer than normal.  The highest temperature for the month was 77°F on the 27th and the low for the month was 32°F on the 3rd.  Precipitation was measured at 0.20", just 29% of normal for May.  Winds averaged 7.4 mph and the highest gust was 43 mph on the 19th.

Barrow May 2010

Average temperature in Barrow this May was 19.5°F, slightly below normal.  The high temperature for the month was 33°F occurring on both the 29th and 31st, and the low temperature was  -10°F on the 6th.   Barrow set a new precipitation record on the 28th, of 0.30" shattering the old record of 0.07" set on this date in 2009. The total precipitation for the month was 0.52" four times the normal amount of 0.12".  This puts May 2010 in the top 10 wettest Mays on record for Barrow. Snow was reported for 3 weeks of the month, and by the 31st, there was 4.5" still on the ground.  Winds averaged 12.6 mph and the highest gust reported was 33 mph on May 1st

Big Delta May 2010

51.3°F was the average temperature for Big Delta this month, 3.5°F above normal.  The high temperature was 78°F on the 29th and the recorded low was 26°F on the 6th.  Total precipitation was reported at 0.80", just above normal for May.  

Juneau May 2010

Juneau had the 7th warmest May on record.  The mean monthly temperature was 50.7°F, 2.8°F above normal for the month.  The high temperature was 80°F on the 27th, and the low was recorded at 29°F on the 3rd.  Although, Juneau set a precipitation record of 0.56" on the 15th of the month (the old record was 0.55" in 1964), this was also the 4th driest May on record, average precipitation being measured at only 1.25", just 24% of normal.  Winds averaged 5 mph at the airport and on the 20th a peak gust of 45 mph was reported.

Ketchikan May 2010

Average temperature in Ketchikan was 50.1°F, 1.6°F above normal.  A high of 77°F was recorded on the 28th, and on the 14th, a low of 35°F.  Precipitation during the month was measured at 2.12", only 24% of normal for the month.  The highest one-day total was 1.21" on the 12th.
