Located on upper Yukon River about 1/2 mile south of Eagle Bluff. Current coordinates 64 degrees 47' N, 141 degrees 12'W, elevation 850 feet. (This would put it near the gaging station on the map.) Operated as Ft. Egbert 8/20/1899 through 6/23/1909. Moved 0.3 miles S and name changed 6/23/1909. Slight move NE 1919, 0.1 mile NNW and down 13 feet 1930. 0.4 miles SE and down 17 feet in 1941. Move 0.7 miles SW and up 17 feet in 1950, 0.3 miles E 1957, 0.3 miles NNW and up 19 feet 1963; half mile E and 15 feet down in 1967, 1 mile W and 25 feet up in 1971, slightly NW in 1974. Severe problems with missing data, though it looks fairly good for teens through thirties. Station apparently closed 1934-1941, Nov 1965 through Sep 1967, Aug 70 - Jun 71, and Oct 71 - Apr 72.
Observation time uncertain prior to 1941; 4 pm 1941-57; 5 pm 1957-1963; 8 am 1963- 1965; 7 am 1967-74, 8 am 1974-80, 7 am 1980-present (actually 6 am since time zone change 10/31/83.) 1963 change probably needs correction.
